So I am really terrible about getting on here and blogging, but I am going to try and do better. Add it to my latest list of new goals to make a better life for Nick & I. So here's our past couple months in a nutshell:
In late March Nick's dad had bypass surgery, then in April went back in for blood loss. They are still searching but can not figure out what is wrong. We just take it a day at a time and do what we can to help them out. Our close friends who are pregnant with their first child recently found out they their unborn baby has a terrible disease and will not live more than a couple of days after birth. Our hearts go out to them as they struggle with this difficult path. I had bloodwork done at the begining of June and found out that my insulin levels are three times the what they should be. Dr. George says there will be no getting pregnant until my levels come down to normal. In order to bring them down she has suggested a no carb diet which also includes limited sugar (think a piece of fruit a week) and no caffeine. It is really a struggle to stay on and some days I do better than others, but I am doing my best to make myself healthier so that I can do my best to ensure that when we do get pregnant we have a healthy baby. An added bonus, this also means my weight is dropping, not fast enough for my liking, of course, but hey, every pound lighter makes me feel a little more fabulous.
We had some great times with our families and friends this summer. We had friends over for a bbq, went camping with Chris, Eric, and the kiddos. Spent some days up with Nick's parents. Went to the pool with all the kids. Partied hard with my parents on several occasions. All things considered it has been a pretty rockin' summer so far. The only downside is that it seems to be going so fast :( Jake and Katie get married next weekend, congrats to them, Rachel is coming the weekend after that, and then it is August, where has the time gone?
Anyway, life as always is wonderful, we do what we can to see the best in each day, and to enjoy the time that we have to spend together.

Beautiful Day
It is a gorgeous day here in Lafayette, IN. Nick mowed the yard, including the back 40, and I am sure the neighbors are appreciative. We had a good weekend, lots of housework done, loads upon loads of laundry, and Nick cleaned out the garage, woo hoo! Now I have to pose a serious question, with a story lead up. So Friday night I was supposed to go to Pepe's with Adele, however Dayne wasn't feeling so hot so she ran him to the Urgent Care and was forced to cancel. I was in desperate need of a night out, so I called Robyn to see if she wanted to go get a drink. No answer. Totally bummed, I tell Nick I am going to hang out at home and then the phone rings. Robyn wants to know if I want to go play Bingo. Sure, why not? Long story short, we go play Bingo, I bingo twice and walk away $400 richer. WOO HOO!! Which brings me to my question, Nick says I can spend the money however I want since I won it, but I'm not sure what I want to buy...I keep talking about a new stove, since I hate this ceramic cook top shit, but something fun for myself would be nice too. Hmmm....guess I will think on it a couple days and see if anything makes me go "Yeah, I want that!"

Easter Weekend
So busy day, up in Lowell having Easter with Nick's family. Lots of cooking lots of stories, lots of fun :) Busy weekends tend to drive me crazy but I love spending time with family and hanging out. It is raining which totally sucks but praying that we get some sun for tomorrow, my plants could really use it. Anyway, not a whole lot going on but a Happy Easter to every one and lots of love!

I Saw A Red Door and I Want it Painted Black
Lacey and I had a guy come over to give us an estimate on painting the trim on our house. I would do it myself but I have a couple of things working against me:
1) I am horrible at painting
2) I will need to get on the roof and you are talking about a man who broke his ankle taking out the garbage
I never knew how expensive it could be to paint the outside of your house. I wonder how much it cost to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel (and that was Michelangelo!).

Happy Almost Friday!
Thursday night, not a lot going on. Debated with mom on shower gifts for everyone, stopped and picked up chinese on the way home, and am now sitting her trying to make plans for stuff that needs to get done this weekend. Flower beds need to be cleaned out and the house needs a good scrub. Other than that, not much going on! Nick's dad is doing better, up and walking around, looks like he will be out of the hospital tomorrow, so good news on that front! And another day goes by...

Sunday, Bloody Sunday
And another weekend comes to an end. I feel a little sad, and I know Nick is exhausted. His dad went in for an angiogram on Friday and wound up having an emergency bypass. But things are looking up, he is on the ventilator and the heart pump. Now we just wait to see how long it will be til he is out of the hospital. Needless to say Nick spent his weekend up north while I stayed here and took care of the house. 8 loads of laundry, 3 loads of dishes and a whole lot of cabinet organizing later, I am feeling a little better about how our house looks. Today is Ewoc's 1st birthday, so I sang to him this morning :) and we snuggled for awhile this morning. My strawberries, some hostas, and my butterfly bush came in on Thursday, so I got those in planters, and now I am spending the few precious hours of Sunday left watching some movies and relaxing with my hubby :)

Happy St. Patty's Day!
Nathan's bday today went well :) Lots of fun with the fam, lil Nathan is getting so big! Lil, Ava, & Sam had a great time playing in the cake, drinking kiddy cocktails and swimming, but by the end Aunt Lacey was worn out. Today was one of those days that makes you wish you could have stayed home and laid in the sunshine...so beautiful and there we were stuck in the office. Oh well, what are you going to do? I'm off to make some dirt pudding for food day tomorrow and then head to bed...slowly my sinuses are clearing, and I mean slowly!

Taco Bell
Ok, so day 2 of my post and things are going well. Came home tonight and slept for a couple hours trying to shake this sinus infection, and woke up feeling more groggy then before. Nick was kind enough after 3 hours of my asking, to go get me some Taco Bell. There is an Operation Repo marathon and I've got my tacos so life is good! We are heading down to Indy tomorrow night for Nathan's bday, he is 1 year old! Seems like it has gone so fast. Love my husband, love my family, love my life...

First Time Blogger, Long Time Reader
So, it is my first time using a blog, but after having some friends share blogs they created when they had kiddos, I thought I might like to try it out. Nick has made fun of me for creating a blog, mainly because he thinks we are boring and have nothing to write about, but me, I think we have some funny stories to share. I also think it might be fun to look back later on and remember some of the good times. Not that right now is such a good time...my sinuses are driving me crazy because we are going through some crazy weather changes, snow one day and 68 degrees the next, welcome to Indiana. My parents are gone on a cruise with a couple they have been friends with for a long time. Lex and Andrew are down in Florida at my grandparents, in fact she just called to let me know my mom called her to let us know she and my dad are having a great time and that they are safe. I am so jealous, I really am ready for summer. Nick is watching Reno 911, which I won't lie, tends to creep me out more often than I find it funny. Ewoc is running around here somewhere, coming down off of a spaz out which lead to running up and down the stairs. And I'm sitting here typing. We had AIT training, which exhausts me all in itself, even though I don't do anything physical for it. Lots of good questions though, should be a good group of new agents. Let's just hope they remember all this training 6 months from now when they get their appointment. Overall an ok day, and though it is only 7:45, I think I might be headed for bed soon (Nick is complaining that I must be typing a novel). Anyway, kind of long, I know, but it's a first post, so hey, who cares? The Office is on, "you already did me, that's what she said" and I'm out!
